=> En août 2011, l'AFI a lancé l'Académie Australienne du Cinéma et de Télévision Arts (AACTA), dans le but d'élever le statut du film australien et à la télévision nationale et internationale, créant ainsi une plus grande reconnaissance et les possibilités pour notre industrie de talent, et en créant un fort lien entre le public et le grand contenu Australien.
=> Après la création de AACTA, l'année 2011 marquera l'inauguration des Prix AACTA, qui sont la continuité de l'AFI Awards. AACTA continuera à célébrer le fier héritage établi par l'AFI Awards, et une liste des anciens lauréats AFI Award peut être trouvé sur le site AACTA. => La première édition du Prix AACTA sera présenté à travers deux événements: lors d'un déjeuner au Sydney Hôtel Westin le 15 janvier, qui coïncidera avec le Gala G’Day USA Black Tie à Los Angeles le 14 Janvier, et lors d'une cérémonie du soir à l'Opéra de Sydney le 31 Janvier.

A part Sleeping Beauty, je ne connais aucuns des films nommés, mais bon, ça ne m'étonne pas. A part celui-ci et Animal Kingdom, cette année, on a peu parlé de films australiens, comme quasiment tous les ans. Sauf peut-être quand Jane Campion fait un film, mais c'est tellement rare !
